Big Sur Surfing & Survival
THIS IS A SURF TRIP! For surfers, by surfers. This trip is intended to give you the time you need with our expert team of instructors to progress to the next level, while providing fun and educational activities between and after the surf sessions.

The AO Surfing & Survival Retreat offers the experience of a true surf exploration and wilderness adventure trip, right in our own backyard: the Central California Coast. With miles of uninhabited coastline and pristine wilderness, the Big Sur region is the perfect place for such an adventure. This 3 day, 2 night trip will be an all-inclusive, wilderness oriented surf trip, combining surf instruction and wilderness survival skills training. The skills taught will be based on the Sacred Order of Survival (shelter, water, fire, food) as well as the philosophy of living close to the earth.

This program, combined with AO's first-rate surfing instruction, will offer participants a one-of-kind opportunity! A fun and relaxing weekend will be provided for you as we handle every aspect from camping reservations, to food preparation, and a personal massage therapist on the trip to help you relax at the end of the day! Each day will start with a surf check of the surrounding spots and surf session. Afternoon will provide you with the option of another surf session, wilderness survival training, a massage, or just relax and explore Big Sur! It's up to you!

Prerequisites
We ask that all the surfers participating in this excursion be at least at the level of our Surfing II Clinic, if not higher. There is no prerequisite for the Survival Skills Workshops, whether you are the most novice of campers, or seasoned backpacker, there is something for you in this course!

Your trip includes:
Professional instruction in both Surfing and Wilderness Survival, 2 Dinners, 2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches. All materials for the Wilderness Survival Workshops are provided. We recommend you bring your own Surfing Equipment (rentals available on request).

Your packing list:
You will need to bring all the necessary clothes, camping equipment, and surf gear for the trip. Exact packing list will be provided upon registration.

The trip meets in southern Big Sur approximately one hour south of Monterey on Highway 1.
