Tom holds a B.A. in Geography and Anthropology from Rutgers Universtiy. Along with surfing his truest passions lie in nature and numerous outdoor activities. He has spent and entire year living "off-the-land" in a hand-made shelter of forest debris. He has trained thousands of people in wilderness survival at the world renowned "Tracker School". He has also acted as a wilderness consultant for numerous television news programs such as CNN and "Extra" as well as training actors for wilderness-based Hollywood movies such as "The Villiage". Tom is also an avid potter, and is currently training for a 50 mile ultra-marathon.
