“We provide a program & environment that empowers and supports people of all walks-of-life to achieve their wildest adventures in the outdoors, while fostering a respect for and connection to the natural environment.”
-Cliff Hodges, Owner/CEO
The mission of Adventure Out is simple: to help people fall back in love with nature. We accomplish this by providing programs of the highest quality and safety standards that get people outdoors, physically active, and adventuring in nature. By providing this time and space for people to escape the hustle-and-bustle of daily life, we accomplish what we consider to be some of the most important environmental work of all – helping people to reconnect with our natural world.
Founded in 2002, we started as a company that offered adventure trips and clinics exclusively to women. Over the course of our first year in business we had a number of inquiries to broaden our reach to men, children, and educational institutions. In April of 2003 we became Adventure Out by announcing the expansion of our outdoor offerings to men, kids, educational institutions, and corporations. The foundation of our company teaching and guiding philosophy is to preserve the sanctity of the activities and sports we love by teaching safety, responsibility, environmental stewardship, and culture/history to all of our students.
Adventure Out is also proud to be a “Green Business” by making all of our print material and advertising from 100% recycled materials, operating with energy efficient lighting and appliances, and using organic cotton for all company-branded clothing.
We value the journey of building relationships, community, and friendships while having fun, staying healthy, & enjoying and preserving the natural environment!
Environment: Adventure Out is proud to be a Green Business. In addition to being members of the 1% For The Planet Alliance (see below), we run an eco-friendly office place. All our print services (office paper, business cards, brochures, etc) are made with 100% recycled paper and soy-based ink. All our shipping/packaging material is made of recycled material. And beginning in summer of 2007, our office will switch to energy efficient lighting and appliances, as well as making all our company-branded clothing from organic cotton and other sustainable materials.
Community: We are committed to building community through our clinics, adventures, and our pro-bono community outreach program. We acknowledge that all our activities have a rich culture and history surrounding them; we strive to bring our students into these networks both in a safe and respectful manner so that we all may continue to enjoy these beautiful traditions.
Donations: We have had the honor to donate some of our services to the following organizations: Women on Board, Jon Simms Center for the Arts, Rooftop Alternative K-8 School, Refugee Transitions, The National Aids Marathon Training Program, Bay Kids, San Francisco Hospitality House, Cycle for Change, The 2004 Kidney Foundation Walk, 2004 Aids LifeCycle Ride, USF MBA Program, and The Capitola Women’s Crisis Support Center.
Our participants are as diverse as the adventures we offer! We welcome the public of all ages and walks of life, as well as private groups, schools, corporations, and all who are thirst for adventure! We are thrilled to announce that we have lead corporations such as Title 9 Sports, Quinn Emanuel Law Firm, and Quest Communications to name just a few! – CLICK HERE FOR INFO ON OUR PROGRAMS FOR CORPORATE GROUPS
