San Francisco, CA – March 18, 2003 – girlsAdventureOUT spoke up to promote peace on earth – and sea – in a recent San Francisco Chronicle report on Santa Cruz surf wars. Since April 2002, the Bay Area company has offered adventure tours, clinics, and vacations that cater to women, with over 500 graduates from its popular surf clinics alone.

With the perennially popular sport attracting a growing number of eager students, Silver has taught women from grandmothers to teenagers the art of catching a wave. Santa Cruz officials hope to make and distribute 7,000 copies of a brochure called "The Surfing Way" to keep local beaches safe and friendly.

girlsAdventureOUT will offer its most popular clinics to men and children beginning next month. "We are always getting guys coming up to us, especially on the beach, asking if they can join in on a women’s clinic," Silver says. "With so many requesting private lessons, we are thrilled to offer men’s and children’s clinics."
