No prior experience necessary!

This two-day workshop will explore the grounding, centering and peaceful benefits of yoga mixed with the fun, excitement and exhilaration of surfing waves in the Pacific Ocean. We will start off with an hour of gentle, flowing yoga and meditation to unite body, mind and spirit. The yoga practice will focus on opening and stretching the muscles necessary for paddling, will emphasize balance for riding waves, and will prepare us for feeling the energy of the ocean.

After the yoga practice will come surf instruction during which participants will learn ocean awareness, safety, how to read ocean conditions and surf technique as well as balancing on the board. Then we will get in the water and ride waves! This workshop is open to both intermediate surfers as well as complete beginners and to all levels of yoga experience. Workshop is designed to provide participants with an opportunity to get together and explore the beauty of yoga and the beauty of the ocean.

The yoga/surf instructor:
Michelle was born and raised in beautiful northern california. She began surfing over 10 years ago, and has been practicing yoga almost as long. She is a certified yoga teacher that takes inspiration from many different styles to create dynamic, heart opening flows.  Her love of surfing and travel led her to explore waves around the world, spending a lot of time in Central America enjoying the simple life, surfing tropical waters and diving deeper into her yoga practice.  In her yoga practice she looks for ways to connect the lesson learned in yoga to other aspects of life. She believes yoga is a practice cultivated both on and off the mat. Surfing in particular goes hand in hand with yoga as each can strengthen and enhance the other. Your clinic includes:
Two days, each day includes an hour of yoga instruction and three hours of surf instruction. All your gear is included – complementary surfboard & wetsuit (be sure to specify your sizes during registration). If you have your own surfboard or wetsuit, you are welcome to bring them, we recommend all wetsuits are at least 4/3mm.

Your packing list:
Loose fitting clothes to practice yoga in. We will provide all the equipment necessary for surfing, so just bring regular beach items: swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, snack & water.
