The Teen Summer Outdoor Climbing team meets once per week for 6 weeks on Thursdays at Castle Rock.
Join Adventure Out for our Summer outdoor Teen Climbing Team! This is a great opportunity to explore outdoor climbing adventures with a professional rock climbing guide. During these 6 weeks, teens will learn how to navigate outdoor climbing adventures; the team will create a solid community with support from the guide, helping to empower and promote self assessment, confidence and awareness within the climbing world.
This can be the start to adventures or a continuation of a preexisting passion. Get ready, get psyched… summer climbing team is coming!
*6-Week Session: $275
The teen summer climbing team program is a great way to get your teens passionate about rock climbing, or for those with experience already, to take their outdoor experience to the next level. Over the course of the 6 weeks, teens will learn:
*Top-rope site management
*Belay and safety techniques
*Evaluation and building of anchor systems
*Beginner thru advanced climbing technique
*Intro to outdoor leading, and more!
The team will also help the teens create an independent and cohesive community for young climbers with support from the guide, helping to empower and promote self assessment, confidence and awareness within the climbing world!
Dates Offered: One 6-week session per summer. Participants should commit to attending at least 3 sessions (if you can make all 6, even better! – but pricing assumes 3-4 sessions per person)

Minimum Number Needed For Team Program: 4 Teens
Maximum Team Size: 16 Teens
The summer climbing team program is held at Castle Rock State Park in Los Gatos, CA. Castle Rock is located at 15451 Skyline Blvd, Los Gatos, CA – approximately 2.25 miles south of the Highway 9 and Skyline Blvd intersection on Skyline Blvd. Directions, exact maps, recommended packing lists, and other details will all be provided upon registration. Adventure Out will assist parents and teens in creating rideshares as well to assist with transportation.
Your clinic includes:
Five hours of instruction per session from AMGA trained guides – 6 sessions in total. This program is priced to assume that each participant may miss 1 or 2 sessions – your teen will still gain excellent experience and outdoor climbing knowledge from attending 3-4 sessions per summer. If they can make all 6 sessions, even better! All team gear is included – carabiners, ropes, webbing, cord, belay devices, etc. Each participant should bring their own harness and shoes.
Your packing list:
Flexible and comfortable clothing appropriate for the outdoors, stable footwear for a small amount of hiking, climbing harness, climbing shoes. Lunch/Snack, water, and daypack to carry your personal items to the climbing area. Exact packing list will be provided upon registration.
