Come join Adventure Out for guided Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) tours and instructional clinics in the heart of San Francisco. Our tours depart from the recently renovated Mission Creek Park near the Ballpark in the SOMA / Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco. Our expert instructors will help you learn the basics if you are new to SUP’ing, or for more experienced paddlers we can hit the water and work on your technique and paddle power!
Guided tours of the Mission Bay waterway will take us out to the World Famous McCovey Cove outside of the ballpark where the San Francisco Giants play. This is a Stand Up Paddleboarding opportunity that is like nowhere else in the world and a true hidden gem of any San Francisco experience. Book a private tour or group clinic any day of the week!

Your SUP clinic and tour will start with a short land-lesson to review proper equipment use, water safety, and the basic mechanics of launching your SUP and staying balanced. More experienced paddlers can request a more advanced technique lesson as well. We’ll then walk down the boat ramp and launch in to the San Francisco Bay. Adventure Out will supply all required equipment at no additional cost (board, paddle, leash, life vest, and safety whistle). Once in the water we’ll review your technique and work on balance and board control, while also learning to stay safe and recover from falls with proven self-rescue maneuvers. After getting accustomed to the board, we’ll venture further out in to the water way to work on various paddle techniques and see the sites. On most tides we’ll be able to make it under the bridges out out to McCovey Cove to see the home of the San Francisco Giants before returning to the park and launch ramp.
We provide a safe and non-threatening environment for learning and improving your SUP skills! Come have fun and explore the San Francisco Bay with our experienced guides and see the world famous McCovey Cove from the water!

Directions? How do I sign up?
All SUP Programs meet at Mission Creek Park near the boat ramp – we’ll bring the gear for you and meet you on site! The park address is 451 Berry St, San Francisco, CA 94158. We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to find on-street parking. We will meet you in the park area near the boat ramp, basketball, and volleyball courts. WE DO NOT ACCEPT WALK-INS – please register in advance by clicking the links below. Directions, exact meeting instructions, and other details will all be in your confirmation email once booked.
Your clinic includes:
Two hour SUP instructional tour of Mission Bay and the famed McCovey Cove in San Francisco. All your gear is included: Stand up paddle board (SUP), Paddle, Personal Flotation Device (PFD)*, and Safety Whistle.
*The U.S. Coast Guard classifies stand up paddle boards as vessels, so you have to have a PFD on board. Adults don’t have to wear the PFD, but children must. Though for warmth, sun protection, and safety, we reccommend everyone wear theirs.
Your packing list:
We provide all the equipment for your SUP adventure! Just bring regular beach/swimming items and appropriate clothing: swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, snack & water, hat/sunglasses. A lycra rashguard shirt is excellent both for added warmth or sun protection, and water shoes such as Tevas or Chacos are also excellent if you have them.
