Alameda Island is just 30 minutes south of San Francisco across the Oakland Bay Bridge, and home of the USS Hornet, docked at the now decommissioned Naval Air Station. Once instrumental in the transport of B25 Bombers, the Hornet is now a museum open to the public. Our SUP land safety briefing will take place at Encinal Beach. A short one mile paddle (or more depending on conditions and your athletic abilities) will bring us hull-side to the majestic Hornet, in the calm waters protected by the Rock Wall in temperatures typically in the low 60’s. Finally, a pleasant downwind paddle back to Encinal beach can be expected to conclude our two hour tour.
We provide a safe and non-threatening environment for learning and improving your SUP skills! Come have fun and explore the East Bay with our experienced guides and see the world famous USS Hornet from the water!
