The 2-Day, (16-20 hour) Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is for outdoor professionals and enthusiasts ages 14+. This class is active and practical – participants will learn fundamental wilderness medicine and prevention, while developing important judgment skills for outdoor emergencies.

Certification Description & Objectives: Two Day, (16-20 hour) Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is for outdoor professionals and enthusiasts ages 14+. This class is active and practical – participants will learn fundamental wilderness medicine and prevention, while developing important judgment skills for outdoor emergencies.
-Wilderness First Aid kits
-Primary/Secondary Assessment, Vitals and Trending
-Head, Neck, Spine, and Abdominal Injuries
-Wound and wound infections
Students should bring clothes for in and outdoor setting. Sun protection, hat, glasses, etc. Pen, paper, water and a lunch (hour break at noon – there will be stores nearby to get food). Our WFA curriculum satisfies the Wilderness Medical Society’s published recommendations for Wilderness First Aid. Certifications are valid for 2 years.

Course Instructors: Adventure Out has teamed up with the nonprofit organization Backcountry Medical Guides! BMG is a locally operated outdoor medical training program with years of experience. All instructors have years of experience both in teaching the WFA Cert, as well as working as actual medics and rescuers in our national forests, parks, and wild spaces.

Your packing list:
We provide all the equipment for your WFA Cert! Just come each day prepared with clothing to spend a day in the outdoors, closed-toed shoes, lunch/snacks, water, and a notebook to takes notes.
